I’ve been watching Saturday Night Live since I was eight years old when my dad would let me stay up late to watch it with him. Needless to say, I’m a huge fan of the show. So I was thrilled to hear that the host of this year’s Emmy Awards is none other than Andy Samberg!
The creator of “Laser Cats”? Yes, that Andy Samberg.
You mean the guy who sang “D**k in a Box” with Justin Timberlake? Uh-huh.
So, the shaggy-haired dude who rapped about the “Chronic-WHAT-cles of Narnia” is hosting the Emmys? Yeah, him.
The star of Brooklyn Nine-Nine said in a statement:
“Buckle your seat belts, Emmy viewers! Like, in general you should buckle your seat belts in your car. In fact, even if you’re not an Emmy viewer, you should buckle your seat belt. It can be dangerous on the road. Also, if you’re not an Emmy viewer, you should strongly consider becoming one this year, because I’m hosting, and it’s gonna be a wild ride. So buckle your seat belts.”
I’m hoping he brings his teammates from the Lonely Island on stage with him for a performance. Either way, I will definitely have my seat belt firmly buckled for the 2015 Emmys, airing September 20th at 7pm on Fox.
